The logo

The Flora of Tasmania Online logo is a stylised drawing of Isophysis tasmanica (Hewardia, Tasmanian Purplestar, Purple Star-iris; Iridaceae). Isophysis is a monotypic and taxonomically isolated genus in the Iris family and is one of the many genera endemic to Tasmania. It is found in exposed areas on quartzite in the western half of the state. Its flowers are normally purple, and occasionally yellow.

The original purple logo (on the left) was designed by Hannah Gamble and Jess Atkinson (TMAG). The logo was modified in 2018 for use on a black background.
